Your privacy is important to Points of Tango (POTs from now) and we take our responsibility of caring for it seriously. This policy describes how Points of Tango Ltd processes the personal information we collect about you when you use our mobile, online, and downloadable products (collectively, "Services"; each "Service").

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before signing up on our Services, you agree to our terms & conditions. You also obliged to respect our Tango community etiquette. IOS users (iPhone and other Apple devices) also accept the terms of the End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”).

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect is to both identify you as user of our Services (mandatory information) and to provide you a better user experience (optional information). Please see below for more details.

1. "Mandatory" Information

  • At Sign up: Email; Full Name; Country origin and Country of residence.

  • When filling in a Contact Us form: Name, telephone number (optional), email.

2. "Optional" Information

  • Type A: Birth and Residential city, Phone Number, Address and Post Code, Facebook profileDate of Birth: This data is provided to simplify registration process to events by pre-filling data.

3. Other Information We Collect When You Use Our Services

  • Device ID and TimeZone: Our push notification server requires the device ID and timezone to manage the time when our service would send notifications to users. The service will not send notifications during night time (0 to 7 am local time).

  • When the user interacts with an event, by clicking on interest, starting a registration process or performs any interactive actions, our service may store this interaction if relevant. This is for many purposes, for the user visualisation like highlighting the interested events, or to keep track of the status of a particular registration process. 

  • Orders made in our services are stored containing the items paid in that particular order. The user will be able to keep history of the orders performed, either booking an event or shopping. Basically, details about what POT Services you purchase or obtain, and your use of them.

  • When you participate in social features such as chat, any audio, visual, and/or electronic information that you disclose may be read, copied, collected, or used by other players, and may become publicly available. Please make sure your privacy settings reflect your preferences.

  • We also may collect and store information locally on your device, using mechanisms like cookies, browser web storage, and application data caches.

  • Approximate geolocation data (derived from IP or device settings);

  • Browser / Device settings information, including your the language preference, time zone and theme set (dark mode or not)

4. Information we DO NOT Collect when you use our services

  • Billing information, such as your name, payment card number, payment account details, and shipping address. The payment process is performed securely and trustfully by a third part company, one of the most payment gateways in the market. Our service do not store any information, this is passed directly to the specific gateway system (by SDK).

  • Location. The service would require user location to use part of the features such as Map or recommend events / products closer to the users location. This information is not stored in our database, it is only use on real time when using our services.

5. Google, Facebook, Apple Sign In/Up

  • We provide the option to sign in/up by Google, Facebook and Apple ID (options depends on device). We only request public information, which is email and full name, allowing to speed up the sign up/in process.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Our legal basis for processing your personal information varies depending on the country of your residence, as indicated when you are setting up your account.

  • If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or of a jurisdiction where similar legal requirements may apply such as Brazil, Switzerland, and the United States, we rely on a number of legal bases to process information about you, depending on the type of information and the context in which we collect it. We will process information about you where we have your consent, where we have a legitimate interest to do so, where the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you, and/or where we have a legal obligation to process your information. For example, we typically rely on:

    • Consent when placing cookies on your device on the web (through our cookie consent manager) to send you email marketing, or to deliver third party targeted advertising to you on our Services;

    • Our legitimate interests to process your information when providing you with customer service support, to serve targeted marketing of our Services, for fraud prevention and security purposes; and

    • On contractual necessity to process information when you create a POTs Account, and enable us to provide you with our Services.

  • If you are a resident of another jurisdiction, our legal basis for processing your information is typically consent to this Policy and/or any specific consent for processing your information that you have provided.

2. How We Collect Information

  1. Cookies and Similar Technologies

    Cookies are small text files stored on your Internet browser. We use cookies and similar technologies to help us understand things like what web pages, features, or ads you view. This information helps us keep track of your shopping cart, measure the effectiveness of our advertising, make sure you don't see the same ad repeatedly, and otherwise enhance your user experience.

    We use internal and third-party analytics technologies to collect information about how you use our Services, your computer or device and the health of our Services

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information, both individually and combined together, in the following ways.
 

To operate our service and to enhance and personalize your user experience, including to:

  • Operate, improve, and develop our Services;

  • Undertake research and analysis to develop and demonstrate our technology, and to better understand our users;

  • Help you find your friends or tell your friends about a Service;

  • Facilitate sharing on social networks;

  • Serve and measure the effectiveness of advertising;

  • Measure the health of our Services;

  • Set up and maintain accounts for which you register;

  • Provide events that you may like;

  • Set up and facilitate loyalty programs;

  • Facilitate your usability on multiple devices, as applicable;

  • Identify, fix, and troubleshoot bugs or functionality errors;

  • Provide software updates;

  • Facilitate registration process;

  • Adhere to your preferences and to deliver dynamic content;

  • Other purposes you consent to, are notified of, or are disclosed to you when you provide personal information.

To provide you support, including to:

  • Help identify and troubleshoot problems with your account or Services;

  • Facilitate surveys or questionnaires;

  • Communicate with you and respond to your specific requests or questions;

  • Manage and send you confirmations and important information about your account, Services, purchases, subscriptions, and warranties.

To personalize our communications with you, including to:

  • Present offers and/or information relating to events and/or stores you might like;

  • Make recommendations to you;

  • Provide you with Service updates.

We retain the information we collect for as long as necessary to provide our Services, and we may retain that information beyond that period if necessary for legal, operational or other legitimate reasons


We may also de-identify, anonymize, or aggregate the information we collect, or collect it in a way that does not directly identify you. We may use and share such information as necessary for our business purposes and as permitted by applicable law.

4. Information We Share

We do not share, sell (as the term is defined under applicable privacy laws), or disclose your personal information, except as described in this policy.
 

As mentioned above, payment service is provided by a third company, we do not collect and share the data with them but they collect it and process it directly. None of this payment information is kept by us. Please review their private policy to understand how they manipulate your data. With that said, Stripes is one of the most popular and safe payment gateway in the market, for this reason we decided to operate payments through them.

Event Organisers. We may provide information required by event organisers in order for them to proceed with the registration processes.  This includes personal information and status/interaction with the specific event.

Disclosures to protect us or others. We may access, preserve, and disclose any information we store associated with you to external parties if we, in good faith, believe doing so is required or appropriate to: comply with law enforcement or national security requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; protect your, our or others' rights, property, or safety; enforce our policies or contracts; collect amounts owed to us; or assist with an investigation or prosecution of suspected or actual illegal activity. In particular, if we receive a report that you have violated our policies, we may disclose that report and other relevant information to the platform on which you share this account.

Disclosure in the event of merger, sale, or other asset transfer. In the event of a reorganization, divestiture, merger, sale or bankruptcy, we may transfer all information we collect to the relevant third party and will obtain your consent to do so if required by law or contract.

Third-party plugins. When third-party technologies or social tools are integrated into our Services, those third parties may collect information about your use of our Services. An example is the Facebook "Like" button.

With Your Consent. We may share information with other third parties with your express consent, unless otherwise described above. For example, you may agree to us sharing your information with a certain company or organization to hear about their products, services, or promotions, or if you tell us that you want to link your POTs Account with another company’s services. Use of the information you agree to share will be subject to those third parties' respective privacy notices.

5. Where We Hold Your Information

Personal information we collect may be stored and processed for the purposes set out in this Privacy and Cookie Policy in any country in which POTs operates. By consenting to the transfer of your personal data outside of your country of residence, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to recipients in other countries that may not offer the same level of privacy protection as the laws in your country of residence or citizenship.

The company policy and strategy to store the data is based on geo-localization. We store data about events and users across the world, so it requires a world wide hosting strategy.

POTs privacy practices comply with the APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules System. The APEC CBPR system provides a framework for organizations to ensure protection of personal information transferred among participating APEC economies. 6. How We Protect Your Information

Security of your information is a priority at POTs and we take a range of measures to help protect it, including encryption of sensitive information. Even so, no security measure is 100% perfect. We cannot guarantee the security of your information and do not assume any responsibility for the unauthorized use or access to your information under our control.

7. Your Choices and Controls

We give you meaningful choices when it comes to our collection and use of your information. For example, if you no longer wish to receive marketing emails from POTs, you may click the unsubscribe link included in the footer of every marketing email we send.

To exercise any of the rights listed below, you may contact us via email at info@pointsoftango.com or phone. To protect your account security and personal information, you will be asked to verify your account ownership before exercising these rights. Once you have verified your account ownership, you may also be required to provide your confirmation authorizing an agent to exercise these rights for you.

Your right to deletion. You may deactivate your POTs Account or delete the personal information associated with your account by contacting us via email at info@pointsoftango.com. If you do so, you will no longer have access to the POTs Services associated with your account. Note that we may retain information needed to resolve disputes, enforce our user agreements, protect our legal rights, and comply with technical and legal requirements and constraints related to the security, integrity and operation of our Services. Otherwise, we will retain your personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide you with, create, and improve our Services, and to comply with the law.

Your right to access. You can access the personal information we hold about you. All information we hold is visible for you by using our platform. We do not hold and hide information from you. If you wish to have details you can contact us via email at info@pointsoftango.com
. Before we process any request, we may ask you for certain personal information in order to verify your identity.

Your right to correction. You can request correction of your personal information where it is inaccurate or incomplete. In some cases, we may provide self-service tools, such as those on the POTs Account Tab in our platform, that enable you to update your personal information.

Your right to opt out or object to certain processing. You may have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information to third parties, if applicable, or object to some processing of your data, where such requests are permitted by law.

You have a right not to receive discriminatory treatment for the exercise of the privacy rights described in this section.

8. Third-Party Services

Our websites and Services may contain advertising or links to third-party services (such as the Facebook "Like" button or links to third-party websites). If you click on those links, including an advertisement, you will leave the POTs Service and go to the third-party service or site that you selected. If you visit a third-party website or use a third-party service, you should consult that service's or site's privacy policy as your use of third-party sites or services is governed by their privacy policies.

9. Changes to Our Policy

 

We may occasionally update this privacy policy. When we do, we will revise the "updated" date at the top of the policy. If there are material changes to this policy, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes before they take effect or by directly sending you a notification as required under local laws.
